Lymph node metastases in breast cancer: Investigating associations with tumor characteristics, molecular subtypes and polygenic risk score using a continuous growth model

چکیده

We investigate the association between rate of breast cancer lymph node spread and grade, estrogen receptor (ER) status, progesteron decision tree derived PAM50 molecular subtype a polygenic risk score (PRS), using data on 10 950 women included from two different sources. Lymph was analyzed novel continuous tumor progression model that adjusts for volume in biologically motivated way incorporates covariates interest. Grades 2 3 tumors, respectively, were associated with 1.63 2.17 times faster rates than Grade 1 tumors (P < 10?16). ER/PR negative 1.25/1.19 positive cancer, respectively = .0011 .0012). Among subtypes luminal A, B, Her2-enriched basal-like, 1.53 A .00072). PRS not spread. Continuous growth models are useful quantifying associations characteristics. These may be building realistic microsimulation studies used to design individualized screening programs.

Prognostic Value of Lymph Node Ratio in comparison to Lymph Node Metastases in Stage III Colon Cancer

Background & Objectives: Colon cancer is currently of high incidence and mortality rate. Identifying the factors influencing its prognosis can be very beneficial to its clinical treatment. Recent studies have shown that lymph nodes ratio can be considered as an important prognostic factor. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of this factor on the prognosis of the ...

Tumor Characteristics Influencing Non-Sentinel Lymph Node Involvement in Clinically Node Negative Patients with Breast Cancer

PURPOSE The negative sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy avoids conventional axillary dissection in patients with breast cancer with clinically negative axilla. Despite negative SLN, there is a risk of leaving involved non-SLN behind in the axilla. We investigated the predictive power of tumor characteristics for non-SLN metastasis. METHODS Lymphatic mapping with blue dye method for SLN biopsy a...

Non-Sentinel Lymph Node Metastasis Prediction in Breast Cancer with Metastatic Sentinel Lymph Node: Impact of Molecular Subtypes Classification

INTRODUCTION To decipher the interaction between the molecular subtype classification and the probability of a non-sentinel node metastasis in breast cancer patients with a metastatic sentinel lymph-node, we applied two validated predictors (Tenon Score and MSKCC Nomogram) on two large independent datasets. MATERIALS AND METHODS Our datasets consisted of 656 and 574 early-stage breast cancer ...

Genetic polymorphisms in DPF3 associated with risk of breast cancer and lymph node metastases

BACKGROUND Several studies have identified rare genetic variations responsible for many cases of familial breast cancer but their contribution to total breast cancer incidence is relatively small. More common genetic variations with low penetrance have been postulated to account for a higher proportion of the population risk of breast cancer. METHODS AND RESULTS In an effort to identify genes...
